On Jan. 21, for the first time since its founding, the young academy celebrated its first Japanese New Year; over the course of the morning, all the ritual ceremonies were carried out, including first and foremost the Principal’s splendid yawatashi, followed by the various Kyudo and Iaido kata, performed with sincere and disciplined spirit by the various members, all of whom showed visible improvement.
After that, on the program was the joyful and challenging kinmato shooting competition, hit by one of the senior members: Andrea Moriconi.
The young academy, both as a foundation and as members, manifested the profound will to continue on the path taken, without too much regard for the many past vicissitudes, which instead of curbing enthusiasm, gave cue to seek a deeper inner maturity, based on the awareness of belonging to a reality to all intents and purposes traditional, no longer as guests, but as an integral part of this new reality.
The celebration was held and concluded in serene participation, concord and harmony; the members all finally felt, as already mentioned, participants in an Academy that belongs to them and that grows with them and is nurtured by resolutions for the future. Moreover, as an auspicious sign for the new Academy and for the coming year, two new members will undertake the practice of the Way of the Bow.
